This brings in serial information. I was using a Keyspan USB-->Serial PDA Adapter. Depending on your adapter and hardware configuration, you may need to use a different port letter.
The extra bits are to prevent the odd outliers that my sensor was giving me. They all seemed to fall under the number ten, so MAX only bangs it through if it is more than 10. Turns out that this is a known bug, but it is easy to circumvent.
